Troubleshooting & FAQ
Start with the message shown by Luna. Stop the session before changing settings, then save and restart.
Installation or license problem
A module does not open: fully extract a fresh copy of the Windows package and keep its files together. Check whether Windows quarantined one of the files. Do not mix releases or move only the launcher.
License rejected: check for spaces around the key, verify your internet connection, and confirm the license is active in your Luna account. If it still cannot be activated, contact support through your purchase channel with the error message.
The launcher closes: read the license or launch error before retrying. Repeatedly opening it will not resolve an invalid license.
Steam sign-in fails
Check that your username and password work in Steam, then retry the account's Test action. Use the sign-in username, not the display name. Enter a fresh Steam Guard or email code when prompted.
Leave Fully headless off while resolving authentication. If Steam asks you to wait, allow the cooldown rather than repeating login attempts.
Invalid master password refers to Luna's account-storage password, not your Steam password. There is no recovery button.
The session seems stuck
Check for an unanswered startup summary, master-password request, or Steam prompt. Press Enter only when the prompt asks for it. On the dashboard, keep Show console output on so you can see and answer requests.
If the message concerns first-buy validation, read verification purchases. A login or verification wait is different from a target waiting for a matching listing.
No items are bought
- Check whether Test mode is on. Simulated matches are intentional in that mode.
- Confirm the target is Enabled, its URL is a Steam Market listing, and you saved the configuration.
- Check price, currency, float, quality, pattern, and discount together. The listing must meet all active filters.
- Check whether the target already reached its quantity for this run.
- Look for a missing discount reference, missing float/pattern information, or an account restriction.
Try one target and change one condition at a time in Test mode. Do not raise a live purchase ceiling merely to check whether the application works.
Purchase failed or confirmation required
A listing may sell before Luna completes the purchase. Also check wallet funds, Market access, billing details, and any confirmation request in Steam.
For restart for first buy validation, stop the session and follow the verification steps. This can involve a separate real purchase.
If a request timed out or the session stopped during a purchase, check your Steam Market history before trying again. A missing success message does not prove that Steam rejected the order.
Rate limit / 429
Let Luna's pause finish or stop and retry later. Leave rate limiting enabled, reduce unnecessary activity, and avoid repeatedly restarting. There is no guaranteed wait time after which Steam will accept the next request.
Dashboard does not open
Launch Web Dashboard and try http://localhost:8080 on the same PC. If needed, try http://127.0.0.1:8080. A different device's localhost does not point to your Luna PC.
Check the dashboard's console for a startup error or a port already in use. If another Luna dashboard is already running, use it or close it before starting another. Do not open a router port to fix local access.
If you were signed out after restarting the dashboard, sign in again. If counters look stale, check whether the actual session is running and refresh the page.
Notifications do not arrive
Check Enable notifications, the selected events, and the channel fields. Save and restart after changing them. Verify Discord webhook permissions or the Telegram token and numeric chat ID.
Use a Bot start event in a test session to verify delivery. The template preview only previews text. See Notifications.
Common questions
Does Luna keep running when my PC sleeps?
No. Keep the PC awake, online, and the session running. The Luna website does not run the sniper for you.
Does closing the browser stop the sniper?
No. Stop a dashboard session with Stop Sniper. For a console session, use Ctrl+C. Closing the launcher stops modules it started.
Why did my quantity counter start over?
Quantities apply per target, per run. Starting a new session resets those counts. Test matches also count toward the quantity during a test run.
Why can a test spend money?
Test mode simulates target purchases, but the separate verification purchase can still occur after a fresh Steam login. Clear Market → Verification purchase → Cheap item URL and save before starting a test that must make no purchases.
Do screenshots have to match my window exactly?
Window borders and spacing can differ between systems and releases. Some guide screenshots are taken on macOS using the same application screens. The installation instructions are for the Windows distribution.
Ask for help
Use the support channel provided with your purchase or open your Luna account. Include:
- The release you downloaded and your Windows version.
- What you tried and the exact error message.
- Whether you used the launcher or dashboard, and whether Test mode was enabled.
- A cropped screenshot or short, redacted log excerpt if useful.
Never send your license key, Steam password, master password, Steam Guard code, or notification tokens. Check console text and screenshots before sharing them.
