Run a session
Review your saved settings, start one session, and stay available for account prompts.
Before starting
Check the active license, selected account, wallet currency, and every enabled target. Make sure the price and quantity are intentional. Decide whether this is a test or a session with real purchases.
For a test without purchases, enable General → Test mode and clear Market → Verification purchase → Cheap item URL. Save both changes before you launch.
For real purchases, complete Billing, verify Market access and wallet funds, and turn Test mode off. If you configure a verification purchase, review its separate item and price cap.
Start from the launcher
- Select Launch → on Market Sniper.
- Read the startup summary and press Enter if prompted.
- Enter your master password if account storage is encrypted.
- Complete Steam Guard, email, or other authentication prompts.
- Watch the console for target activity or an error that needs attention.
Alternatively, start from the web dashboard. Use one method per session. A session started in the launcher is not managed by the dashboard's start/stop controls.
Keep your PC awake and connected to the internet. The sniper runs on your machine; leaving the Luna website open does not keep a local session running.
Understand test results
When a matching listing is found in test mode, the console reports TEST_MODE is enabled, skin not bought. The match counts toward that target's session quantity and may trigger a purchase notification.
The dashboard's Bought count can therefore include simulated matches. Check the mode and console message before treating a count or notification as a real purchase. For a real purchase, verify the item in Steam and your Market history.
Verification purchases are separate
After a fresh login, Luna can attempt the item set under Market → Verification purchase, even with Test mode on. Leave Cheap item URL empty when you do not want this purchase. If Steam later requires verification, follow the prompt before resuming live use.
Monitor the session
- Waiting for input: read the latest prompt and answer it; scanning may not have started yet.
- No matching listings: recheck the URL and filters, then allow time for an eligible listing to appear.
- Purchase failed: the item may have sold, the account may need action, or the wallet may be insufficient. Check the accompanying message.
- Rate limit / 429: allow the pause to finish. Repeatedly restarting does not resolve a Steam limit.
- Target complete: the target has reached its quantity for this run; other targets can continue.
Stop and change settings
For a console session, press Ctrl+C and wait for it to stop. For a dashboard session, use Stop Sniper. An order already sent to Steam may still complete; verify your Steam history if the timing is uncertain.
After stopping, edit the settings, select Save configuration, and start a new session. Quantity counters restart with that new run.
Closing the launcher stops modules it launched. Closing only a browser tab does not stop the local dashboard or its sniper session.
Steam asks for a verification purchase
If the console asks you to restart for first-buy validation:
- Stop the session and read the Steam message.
- For live use, review Market → Verification purchase and set an item URL plus the maximum you are willing to pay.
- Restart and complete the requested Steam confirmation.
- Confirm the result in Steam before resuming unattended use.
This is a real purchase, separate from your target quantities. Do not configure it during a test intended to spend nothing.
